International Police Executive Symposium To Hold Annual Conference In Cincinnati

Law enforcement researchers and practitioners from around the world will be in Cincinnati for the 15th Annual International Police Executive Symposium May 12 through May 16.  Registration begins Sunday May 11 at conference headquarters in the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, 35 West Fifth Street.  During the Opening Dinner at 7:00 pm Sunday, Vice Mayor David Crowley will read a proclamation welcoming the organization to Cincinnati.  Training sessions include presentations by internationally recognized speakers on a range of topics based on the theme “Police Without Borders: The Fading Distinction Between Local and Global”.  Attendees will also experience local attractions throughout the week including a Cincinnati Reds game, shopping in the Central Business district, and a riverboat dinner cruise.  After a morning session Friday, the conference will adjourn at 2:00 pm.

The International Police Executive Symposium was founded in 1994 to bring police researchers and practitioners together to facilitate cross-cultural, international and interdisciplinary exchanges for the enrichment of the police profession.  It encourages discussions and writing on challenging topics of contemporary importance through an array of initiatives including conferences and publications.  More information about the IPES can be found at www.ipes.info.   A complete conference agenda listing all speakers and topics can be found at www.cincinnatipolice.org/ipes_agenda.pdf.
