101st Recruit Class Graduates Friday December 14

Ceremony is 1:00 p.m. at Duke Energy Center

The Cincinnati Police Department’s 101st Recruit Class will graduate Friday December 14 in a ceremony at 1:00 p.m. at the Duke Energy Center, 525 Elm Street.  Forty-nine new Cincinnati Police Officers will be presented with their commissions.  The graduating class also includes one member of the Wyoming Police Department.

Mayor Mark Mallory will address the graduates.  City Manager Milton R. Dohoney, Jr. and Police Chief Thomas H. Streicher, Jr. will offer additional remarks.  Mr. Dohoney and Chief Streicher will administer the oath of office.  

Class officers are Lawrence Johnson, president; Larry Brown, vice president; Mandy Curfiss, treasurer; and Evelyn Colonel, secretary.  Awards will be presented to Victoria Wysel (Valedictorian), Matthew Ventre (Top Marksman), Christopher Clarkson (Outstanding Student), and Michael Smith (Outstanding Service).

The graduates have successfully completed 24 weeks of rigorous instruction covering all facets of modern law enforcement.  The second phase of their training begins Sunday December 16, when the new officers report for work with Field Training Officers on patrol in Cincinnati’s five districts.
