The August 16 murder of Bryan Andre Couch and the June 7 murder of John Harris remain unsolved, and now the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation has offered a $5000 reward in each case for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person of persons responsible for these two homicides. The foundation’s rewards are separate from and in addition to the Crime Stoppers “cash for clues” program. Anyone with information can call the Criminal Investigation Section at 352-3542 or Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
On June 7 of this year, District Five officers and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to 4259 Fergus Street at 2:25 a.m. for a report that a person had been shot and was lying in the street. Twenty-five year old John Harris died at the scene, the victim of a robbery and homicide. His black Chevrolet Monte Carlo was found later that same day on Spring Grove Avenue. Investigators believe that a set of gold bottom tooth caps inlaid with diamonds and a distinctive gold necklace with a diamond-encrusted king’s crown on a heavy chain were also taken during the fatal robbery of Mr. Harris.
On August 16 at 2:35 a.m. Communications Section received a 911 call that a person had been shot at 1125 Sycamore Street. District One officers and Cincinnati Fire personnel found Bryan Andre Couch, 22 years old, suffering from a gunshot wound. He died a short time later at University Hospital. Investigators believe Mr. Couch was the victim of a robbery.
Francis and Carole Carrington established the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation to assist victims’ families by providing support and resources. They view the rewards as a tool to help law enforcement find missing persons and to bring perpetrators to justice. The foundation has paid $252,600 in rewards to citizens who did the right thing by coming forward and sharing information they had.
