Fifty-seven members of the Cincinnati Police Department’s 101st Recruit Class will begin their training Monday June 18 at the Police Academy, 800 Evans Street. After a brief assembly with welcoming remarks from Police Chief Thomas H. Streicher, Jr., the class will get down to work. Recruits will spend the next 26 weeks working on intensive classroom, practical and physical training covering all aspects of modern law enforcement. Graduation day is December 14.
The recruits range in age from 21 to 45. Twenty-six of them have earned bachelor’s degrees in various fields and disciplines; five have earned associate’s degrees; and two have master’s degrees. Sixteen of the recruits have served in the armed forces. Fifty-six members of the 101st Recruit Class are training to become Cincinnati Police Officers. One recruit will serve in the City of Wyoming upon graduation.
