Membership Q & A

The All City card carries all the rights and privileges of a regular membership card, except it is good at any Rec Center that requires a membership card, regardless of where it was purchased.  This card carries no special priviledges!

Question: Is it good for weight/fitness rooms or the walking tracks?

Answer:  If your center charges extra for these services, then the  All City card holder must also pay extra too.  If these services are provided with your regular membership card, then no extra is fee is required.

Question:  If the All City card was not purchased at my center can I require the card holder to complete a (white) membership registration card?  Otherwise, how will I know who is in the gym?

Answer:  Yes! We have a right to know who is in our facilities. They will need to complete a center registration card for all centers they wish to use.  You can verify the registration information against a Driver License or other form of an ID to verify the name on the All City Card is, indeed, the person presenting and entering your gym. (Think open basketball nights at different gyms.)  Maybe they can leave their ID at the counter while they are in the facility and, then, a reqistration card may not be required?

Question:  What if a person already purchased a regular membership card and wants to upgrade to an All City Card. Can I simply collect the cost difference between the two cards?

Answer:    Probably not. If the person is purchasing the All City from the same center where he/she purchase the regular membership card, then maybe you can make it work.  Otherwise, no!  (See Below) Same Center could get old membership card from participant, void it, attach to MCR form, collect difference and
make notes on the Miscellaneous Cash Report of what you did, forward it with the deposit to Financial
Management, then it will work.  Different Center would have to sell the All City Card at the full price, then complete a refund request form, or instruct the participant to request a refund from the other center, where they purchased the card,  once they return the regular membership card back to the center... so they can void it. The original center selling the regular membership card should intiate the refund request form.

Question:  Will the cashier's office sell these cards?

Answer:    Probably not, since we do not sell any other memberships cards now.  But if someone worked in this building and wanted one, we could do it.  Every center that sells regular membership cards can sell All City Cards.

Question:  What is the benefit to the customer that purchases and ALL City Card?

Answer:    No special priviledges accompany this card. The only benefit is a cost savings to the customer. If one of our customers uses 2 or more of our centers, then they might be able to save some money.  A person that uses one and only one of our sites should not purchase an All City Card.  The regular card is cheaper.

Question:    Who gets the revenue from the ALL City Cards?
Answer:    The revenue goes to the center that sold the card, even though the card is good everywhere.
