The City of Cincinnati’s Business Development and Permit Center is a multi-purpose facility that offers single point-of-contact service for Cincinnati homeowners, developers, architects, small business owners, construction personnel, and others involved in the development and building permit process.
The City’s entire Department of Buildings & Inspections are located at the Center, the exciting news is that other City review and development support agencies are also on site, at one location to serve your needs. This includes nearly 125 technical support staff from B&I, Community Development and Planning, the Department of Transportation and Engineering, the Metropolitan Sewer District, the Greater Cincinnati Water Works, and the Cincinnati Fire Department.
The Center was designed with the customer in mind. Customers will find multiple departmental representatives to provide timely advice and review. The Business Development and Permit Center is open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. In order to process applications and prepare permits accurately,
please arrive by 3:30 p.m. Walk-through hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Permits will not be issued after 4:00 p.m. The Center is located at 3300 Central Parkway, off the I-75 Hopple Street exit. Parking is free and easily available right outside the front door.
The Center will:
-
Offer an enhanced, simplified, and streamlined building permits process for customers. All permits that involve development and building construction are expected to be issued at the Business Development and Permit Center.
-
Serve as an information-clearing house for all development incentive programs with particular attention to those programs offered by the City’s Economic Development Division and the Community Development and Planning Department.
-
Provide pre-development consultation.
-
Advocate for and facilitate approved development projects through final completion.
Approximately 80% of our building permit customers simply need a “walk-through” permit. Those will continue to be issued on the spot, in 90 minutes or less. For larger, more complex development projects, which require research and analysis, Center representatives will work with customers to schedule consultation meetings and follow-up, in order to expedite issuance of a permit. The City Manager’s Economic Development Division will be working closely with the staff at the Center, as well.
If you need permits or development assistance in Cincinnati, this is the only place you need to go. The Business Development and Permit Center’s telephone number is 513-352-3271. The permit desk hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Soon we will introduce an enhanced online Epay permitting process, making it even simpler to file and obtain a building permit in the City Of Cincinnati.
On behalf of City Manager Milton Dohoney, Buildings & Inspections Director William Langevin, and the staff of the Business Development and Permit Center, we look forward to serving you!!
